Directing my first show! — Matthew Pichler

Directing has always been a interest ruminating in my mind, starting when I’d direct little shows in my living room with friends on a Friday night. Before committing for performance, that is what I thought I would do. But, fortunately, I took path I am on now and have spent the last three years in the heart of American Musical Theatre, New York City. Here, I’ve been given the opportunity to peform, write, and now, DIRECT!

I’m so happy to say that, in the coming months, I’ll be directing my first FULL show. It is, drum roll please…, PUFFS: or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic. I’ve always been a huge fan of the Harry Potter books and movies (see image below), so the stars aligned for this to be the perfect show to get started on. We’re in such a dark time in the world, and I feel that a night of laughs is just what we need. Beginning to cast the show has been a dream come true. I’ve waited for so long to finally get this moment, AND IT IS HERE!!!
